Artist Richard Peter Han explains his interpretation (from his BLOG):Jacque is a deepsea treasure hunter and scavenger, when he comes across a kelp field and see's a giant sea monster climbing up a gigantic stalk carrying treasures up into his kelp lair.And here he is, 'running' from the giant/sea monster on a giant nautilis.
